Changing the size of the text

The text on this website can be either enlarged or reduced. The following are instructions to change font size in the most popular browsers:

Internet Explorer (All versions)
Select the 'View' item on the top menu bar (if this is not visible in IE7 then first press the 'Alt' key and it will appear) then select 'Text size' and you can choose from Small, Smaller, Medium (the default), Large and Largest.

Firefox (All versions)
Select the 'View' option from the top menu, select 'Text size' and you are given the choice of either enlarging or decreasing font size. You can also press the 'Alt' key and '+' at the same time on your keyboard to increase font size and 'Alt' and '-' at the same time to reduce it. If you press 'Alt' and '0' it will return the font to the default browser font size.

Access keys

Access keys help you to navigate through the main areas of this web site using keyboard shortcuts.

The access keys we have used are:

You can only use access keys on Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4 and above, and Netscape 6 and above (including Firefox and Mozilla) and Safari on the Mac.

With Windows-based systems, using Internet Explorer 4 and above, you will need to press the 'Alt' key and the access key number or letter and then press the 'Enter' key.

Firefox versions 1 and 1.5 and Opera version 6+ you need only press the 'Alt' key and the number (such as 'Alt + 1' to return to the hompage of this site).

Firefox version 2 the key combination of 'Shift + Alt' and the number key (eg. 'Shift + Alt + 9' to go to the 'Contact us' page.

With Macintosh based systems you need to press the 'Ctrl' and the access key number or letter.

Design

We have tried to use combinations of colours that provide sufficient contrast between foreground and background across the sites. If you spot any pages that give you problems, we would like to know.
