About us
REAP was established in 1995 and is a rural community arts organisation, working in and with some of the most isolated and scattered rural communities across the Peak District in Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
REAP supports local people in the expression and preservation of the culture and traditions of the Peak District. We use a variety of art forms ranging from rural crafts, photography, story-telling, drama and writing. We additionally stage major arts festivals and are well placed in supporting the emerging professional development of the creative industries in the region.
Working with multiple different sectors of the community; the elderly, young people, rurally isolated etc, our ethos is geared towards making opportunities accessible and in relation to need and demand. We strive to be inclusive and non-discriminatory in our work and welcome the opportunity to develop new initiatives with local people and organisations.
REAP has, in recent times, gone from strength to strength and continues to do so, both in terms of its local profile but also in the numbers of people and local communities we assist. We have increased such beneficiaries from less than 100 annually in our early years to currently well over 10,000+ annually.
